The [Self]Portrait Series

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

HOW DO I CREATE MY [SELF]PORTRAIT?

This is the first question that comes to mind to all those new to this initiative. A "self portrait" is generally known as the visual representation of an artist made by him or herself through an artistic medium (painting, drawing, sculture, etc). What this project wishes to do is incorporate that same idea but take it a step further. A [Self]portrait allows the individual to create a piece in the way the feel best represents who they are (through writing, visual art, or other means). It it NOT an interpretation of who you are (fiction), but HOW you see yourself and HOW the medium helps you embody that in artistic form (for an example of this, please refer to the poem in the News section in the website).

If this helps you understand what a [Self]Portrait is, you are more than welcome to create your own. Following are submission guidelienes you must have in mind when creating your [Self]Portrait.

WRITTEN [SELF]PORTRAITS

Written [Self]Portraits must come accompanied with a separate document explaining in detail how this medium embodies who you are.
